Fundraising

Hi, everyone!  We very much hope the additional new look ‘fundraising features’ will inspire everybody to continue their wonderful efforts in helping us.......

in spite of the difficult times we are all facing in the current climate!

And what better way to deflect our thoughts away from negative world situations – which most of us are in no position to change anyway?  We’ll carry on, heads in the air, and do something positive towards a world situation that we can change.....the world of neurotransmitter diseases, in particular AADC.

In 2009 we are hoping to take the AADC Research Trust to an even higher level, with the basis of that commitment starting now, during the remainder of this current year.   Irrespective of trendy media catchphrases like ’credit crunch’ being bandied about at every opportunity by the press, we will battle through to make 2009 the best year ever in terms of raising cash, profile, disease awareness and increasing the numbers of our fantastic supporters.

‘Oh yes? Right!’ we can hear you saying, ‘and just how are they going to do all that’, you’re thinking as you read?  With your help is the answer - we know we can’t do it without you!  In order to fulfill these pretty ambitious goals we fully appreciate that firstly nothing can be achieved without your continued loyalty and support.

We would therefore ask that our friends touch base with us on a regular basis.  We would love to hear about your great fundraising ideas, constructive criticism, comments, reviews, appraisal; you know what we mean, helpful feedback, all the things that will remind us that you are still by our side and supporting our efforts for the AADC children.

If anyone has useful comments to make which they would like displayed on the website or newsy items that would cheer others up, please send them in to us via email or post and we will add them to our new ‘comments page’.  Essentially we are seeking innovative fundraising ideas from you, on any scale, be it a large or small event.  You can rely on our support in return and we will help out in anything you may decide to do.  Just give us a call to discuss!  Your ideas to raise our profile will also be welcomed, perhaps via the media, websites, fliers etc.  We’ll even turn up as rent-a-crowd to spur you on while you shout out our name and mission from your soapbox in Hyde Park, if needed!!!

There are of course many manageable ways to help us continue funding AADC Research and ‘to help you to help us’ we have devised a list of possible options.  One of these ideas may perhaps appeal to you enough to rally your family, friends, neighbours, or work colleagues together to take part with you in the chosen event.   Maybe you see yourself organising a local ‘fun-raising’ get-together which might be a straightforward Coffee morning or Car boot sale, or a larger scale event such as a Dance or Race Night.  The great thing about community events is that they bring people together to have fun and enjoy themselves and at the same time raise valuable funds to help with our work. Individual or group sponsored events are always popular such as a walk, swim, bike ride or fun run!   Whatever it is why not call and discuss it with us?

We look forward to hearing from you soon, via email or telephone at the new office - anytime is a good time for us!
