It gives us great pleasure in welcoming Dr THONG Meow Keong , Clinical Geneticist & Professor at the Genetics & Metabolism Unit, Department of Paediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaysia and George Allen, AADC PhD Student at the Department of Molecular Neuroscience, UCL Institute of Neurology in London as the newest members of the Trusts Medical and Scientific Advisory Board.
We are looking forward to Dr Thong’s and George Allen’s contribution to future AADC discussions.
The Trust is very proud and honoured to have Medical and Scientific Advisors from the UK, USA, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, Spain and Malaysia, allowing diverse discussions when considering future AADC Research Projects for funding.
The purpose of a Medical and Scientific Advisory Board is to enable the Charity to amass expertise from professionals around the World who have both an interest and knowledge of Aromatic Amino Acid Decarboxylase (AADC) deficiency. Collaboration with such people is vitally important to the future of children suffering this life threatening and devastating rare brain disease.
The input from these professionals allows the Trust to make the most informed decisions when funding future AADC Research Projects.
We are very grateful to all our Medical and Scientific Advisory Members and look forward to meeting again on 24th April 2009 at our 3rd AADC Meeting.
Thank you
On behalf of the Board of Directors
