eBear’s Attic is the only charity shop set up and run to raise money for The AADC Research Trust. Originally established in 2010, eBear’s Attic opened its doors to public in the form of a small, family-run charity shop in Warlingham, Surrey, selling donated goods to raise money and awareness for one of the World’s rarest brain diseases.
In June 2013, eBear’s Attic moved to Hamsey Green, now with an established following and support group, but this time was set up as a Charity Tea Room & Boutique. The Boutique and eBay site are still selling donated goods to raise funds for research with 100% of the profit raised from the Tea Room also going towards our projects. We completely underestimated how popular eBear’s Attic would become with us having to extend the Tea Room twice since opening!
March 2015 saw the opening of our second premises (just a couple of doors away from our Tea Room & Boutique), which became the home to our donation sorting room and eBay department due to being inundated with donations provided by the generous public!
Not only does eBear’s Attic provide this wonderful Charity with a base for its office, and a continual income for our projects, but it has become a real hub for the local community and the support we have received has been overwhelming, something we hope to maintain for years to come!
